She is the granddaughter of Jim and Sharon Lyon of Bethel Heights and Pat Simpson and the late Wayne W. Simpson of Cave Springs. She is the great granddaughter of Florence Graue of Johnson.

Bride's Employment and Education

She received her Bachelor?s degree at the University of Arkansas in 2010 in Agribusiness Management and Marketing with a minor in Global Agriculture. In 2009, she studied abroad in Belize to participate in a global service learning project. She received the Spitze Public Policy Legislative Internship Award and spent the summer of 2010 in Washington D.C. with the United States Senate. She began her Master?s degree in Agricultural Economics at Oklahoma State University in 2010 as a Graduate Assistant and received an OSU Foundation Distinguished Graduate Fellowship. In July 2011, Amanda was named a Spielman Scholar, or the top female Master?s student in the Department. She graduated May 4, 2012, with her Master?s degree and will begin the Agricultural Economics PhD program in June 2012 at OSU as a Research Assistant.

He is the grandson of Raymond and Gwen Jackson of Levelland, TX, and Dr. Harry Sr. and Sarah Weaver of Albuquerque, NM.

Groom's Employment and Education

He received his Bachelor?s degree in 2010 at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX, in Agribusiness with a minor in Horticulture and Crop Science where he received the Alton Burgess Award for outstanding scholarship and leadership for the department. He served as the student body Vice President from 2009-2010, and the vice chair of the Texas State University System Student Advisory Board from 2009-2010. In the summer of 2010, he held an internship with Land O?Lakes ? Winfield Solutions. He began his Master?s degree in Agricultural Economics at Oklahoma State University in 2010 as a Graduate Assistant. In July 2011, Lance was named a Spielman Scholar, or the top male Master?s Student in the Department. In the fall of 2011 he completed an internship with the Chief Economist of the U.S. House Agriculture Committee. He will begin the Agricultural Economics PhD program in August 2012 at OSU as a Research Assistant with an USDA National Needs Fellowship.
