Our Love Story
We can't help but thank God for all he has done for us. When Alex and I look at each other we are reminded that God does answer specific prayers in the most powerful way. I was a heart broken sophomore in college. I can remember that my heart was shattered in pieces making it impossible for me to function in my everyday life. Depression had taken hold and I was close to giving up on my future. On this specific day I was watching my "K's" (a family I nanny for). Kash the only boy in the family (he was three at the time) asked for a cup of chocolate milk. I responded to his request by saying "sure buddy just go down stairs and get your cup". This task seemed impossible for Kash at the time, so he fell on the floor and began to cry. In that moment I remember the Lord whispering to me "Krysta, that is you. I want to give you your chocolate milk (the man I created for you), and all you need to do is go down stairs and get your cup (get healed). I vowed to God and myself in that moment that I was getting up and I would not look back. I met Alex Baker 17 days after making my vow of getting healed and never looking back. On the other side of the United States Alex Baker was dealing with his own obstacles. He had started to believe that he would never find a girl to marry that was genuine and loved the Lord. Once we met he told me that the Lord told Him that he wanted Alex to walk out on water and trust Him. Alex said "when i decided to trust God in this area I met you two weeks later". So how did we meet? Alex was in a class at the Air Force Academy. My sister's boyfriend, Brandon Sleeth, was being an example student by being on facebook during class. Alex started to glance at Brandon's computer and said, "she is cute". Brandon responded by saying "come to Arkansas over Christmas break and you can meet her". Brandon called me later that day and told me that I needed to accept a guy by the name Alex Baker's friend request. Alex Baker and I began to message each other for the next couple weeks. We first met in Ft. Worth, TX at a horse show. Alex met my Mom, Dad, my best friend Laura, and me all at the same time. He handled it like a champ. I just knew he was a keeper.
